It's tough for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a side that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the possibility.

In the end, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a chance to produce her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her nation failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her debut and seven global championships have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not fail again.

Whether this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort is debatable.

Many contend the argument supporting final game tension. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this innings came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in training, it's been a challenging time because it seemed I've had no rhythm whatsoever," said Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit activate and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from that point the batsman was on her way.

"The possibility to take the field and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

Once she was out her side required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the belief to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we know we can achieve it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this World Cup need to hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this triumph coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they left last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she later said she wished she had played through the pain.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is likely to be her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as captain.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
